Accomplishments: 1. Monitor. Large, clear, bright.
2. Stuffing. Actually which is why the choice has fallen on this laptop. Good potential for an upgrade in the future.
3. Means of communication. Ethernet 1000 Mb/s, WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n, BT 3.0
4. A set of ports decent. 4 USB + 1 USB/eSATA, HDMI, etc.
5. A good webcam. Not exaggerated microphone. It is quite real to communicate without additional headset.
6. Comfortable full-size keyboard(except that the arrows could be more).
6. Pleasant, soft keypad backlighting. Laptop for work was chosen deliberately as possible powerful and with a large monitor.
The system is currently Ubuntu 11.10 with Xfce4(not for lack of power, and subjective reasons of convenience). Win7 has remained a bastard. Very easily and without stress, keeps all the old laptop(Toshiba Satellite A300) is simply hopeless slowed. A couple of virtual machines under VBox + pretty heavy IDE, IntelliJ Idea + standard set of browser , Skype, pidjina and other everyday and remains very decent supply of power.
Playing video on hurrah, even heavy rips network are played without problems. Limitations: The only bottleneck dohlenkiy screw. Perhaps such a solution is chosen for reasons of silence, but given the volume of cooling system in my opinion have not guessed. When copying large files, the system begins to seriously slow down. Comment: Theoretically it can be noted as disadvantages of the following: 1. Quite noisy cooling system, which is understandable - hot video card, powerful enough%.
2. Not very convenient location 3 USB ports on the right. If to stick something with standard USB mouse connectors have to push on distance not to cling.
3. Ubuntu cannot sanity use discrete video. Here we should say thank you to the NVidia with their technology a dynamic switching between integrated/discrete video. That is, firewood stand up, but the default is still using the embedded video, that means that there will be problems have Unity 3D. A small plus in favor of Win7 is there this problem, of course, no.
4. Ubuntu still no drivers for the scanner of prints of fingers.
5. When loading occurs blowout at the edges of the monitor. Like this should indicate poor lighting of the matrix, but in the mode of such deals. All the shortcomings marked as theoretical for me personally play no special role, as described in other reviews opportunity easily soiled housing and inconvenient opening the cover(indeed there is such). Summary: an excellent laptop class "replacing desktop computer". Powerful, large clear display. On a parity the price/quality/capacity none equal to him. When chosen carefully considered all from poppies and ending with dell for 150-200k.
